CT TyMetrix Launches UK Law Firm E-Billing Workshop; Further Demonstrates Leadership Position in Global E-Billing
Inaugural Workshop Held at Herbert Smith LLP in London to Focus on Business Practices and Strategies Involved in E-Billing Globally
HARTFORD, Conn.—March 5, 2007 — The electronic invoicing market is still in its infancy in the UK, and law firms are just beginning to grapple with issues surrounding it. CT TyMetrix, part of CT—a Wolters Kluwer business, today announces the launch of its UK Law Firm E-Billing Workshop program to help law firms in the UK focus on business practices and strategies involved with e-billing globally.
CT TyMetrix provides extensive support to globally dispersed firms. The creation of this workshop is yet another avenue for the company to deliver support to law firms to help ensure success of their clients’ electronic invoicing initiatives. The company’s inaugural workshop was held in January at the law offices of Herbert Smith LLP in London.
"At Herbert Smith, we have long realized that a major change in billing processes was on the horizon," said John Mullins, chief financial officer at Herbert Smith. "As a forward-thinking firm, we believe it’s best to embrace the change and work towards establishing complete e-billing solutions. Such an approach will ensure that together we can deliver a solution that serves the needs of our existing client base as well as providing us with the infrastructure to best meet the requirements of the clients of tomorrow."
As part of CT TyMetrix’s UK Law Firm E-Billing Workshops, Keith Brown, director of product management at CT TyMetrix and chairman of the US LEDES Sub-Committee on Globalization, addresses core issues, standards and steps necessary to consider and resolve in moving to e-billing globally. Some of the issues he raises include addressing currency conversion, standard invoice formats and VAT issues.
"We pioneered the e-billing industry in the US more than ten years ago. In our experience, we found that law firms are enthusiastic early adopters when the platform is easy to use and when they receive sufficient guidance and support from the client’s e-billing partner," said John Weber, general manager of CT TyMetrix. "CT TyMetrix is committed to getting outside counsel onboard as quickly as possible after a client adopts electronic invoicing. The UK Workshop will be part of our multi-pronged approach to working closely to support law firms as they transition to online billing and working in a collaborative environment."
To further assist law firms, CT TyMetrix support teams are available to answer questions and handle any support needs. The company provides global support, including 9am-5pm business-day coverage on every continent.
